SpaceOAR® Hydrogel is an FDA-cleared, absorbable hydrogel that is placed between the prostate and rectum prior to radiation therapy for prostate cancer. By creating additional space between these structures, SpaceOAR helps reduce radiation exposure to the rectum, which may decrease the risk of bowel side effects and help preserve quality of life during and after treatment. The procedure is minimally invasive, typically performed in the office, and the hydrogel is naturally absorbed by the body over time.
